Carpal
tunnel syndrome is a condition that causes pressure on the median
nerve, which is the nerve located in the wrist. The median nerve is
what supplies both movement and feeling to the hand. Carpal tunnel
syndrome often causes tingling, weakness, numbness and muscle damage to
the fingers and hand. Other less common symptoms include pain that extends into the elbow, wasting away of the muscle under the thumb, weak grip or difficulty carrying objects, issues with finger movement and pain in the wrist or hand.
